If your dog isn’t eating the new food, but still love his old food, you can try mixing the two for a few days. With the masking technique, you can trick him into eating the new food. You can use this strategy each time whenever you want to make a change into his diet.
2. Stop the Treats
If your dog isn’t eating his food because he thinks he will get his fill of treats throughout the day. That’s why you have to cut back the treats, and when hunger arises, he will undoubtedly eat his food.
3. Use Chicken Broth
With the chicken broth, you can make any food taste better. If you have a finicky dog in your home, you can try adding a little chicken broth over the top to enhance the flavor. This trick works most of the time; I have tested with dozen of dogs.
4. The Starvation Method

Whenever your pet refuses to eat the food within 30 minutes, then take it back right away, and don’t offer it until the next scheduled mealtime. You’ll do this over and over, the hunger will win, and your dog will eat food.
5. Consider Visiting Your Veterinarian
If your dog has stopped eating suddenly without any previous signs of this behavior, it might be a medical condition. Examine your dog for something unusual such as weight loss, vomiting, sluggishness, or diarrhea, if you find any sign you have to visit your veterinarian.
