Now that American Idol is over, I’ll be getting back to watching Biggest Loser again. While I’m working on weight loss myself, the show inspires me to want to keep working hard. I’ve been stuck for awhile, and watching the progress of the contestants fires me up. It makes me want to see change even more.
I’ve been with my trainer for about 9 months now, and have been eating so much better. I have found a problem with my insulin, and that’s now being taken care of. I’m hoping to see some changes again soon. I guess it’s just a matter of time, and the right combination.
I was torn when American Idol started when the new Biggest Loser did, because I had to choose one or the other. I chose Idol obviously, but I really missed Loser.
Famous words, usually spoken by sports figures…”I’m going to Disney!” This time an Idol will utter those words…wonder how much that sponsorship cost? Disney has a new American Idol attraction, so it’s a nice tie in.
Also, George Michael will be on tonight’s final show. Buckle up, and enjoy the show! It starts shortly…
The two Davids put on quite a show last night. They both belonged there, though I thought Carly should have made it closer to the finals too.
Either way, we actually were cheering on David Cook, but found that David A came to win that night. He put on 3 great performances. I got chills during the first, when he sang “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, which is one of my all time favorite songs. “Imagine” was beautifully done, and even the song nobody knows, he pulled off with passion and pride.
David A deserves to win this thing, but I think David Cook will be the guy you hear on the radio more often down the road.
While American Idol is brought to you by Coke and Ford, this post was brought to you by SafeMart, where they sell things to keep you safer, like ademco and honeywell alarm systems. Be sure to check them out today for all your alarm and safety needs.
Taylor Hicks will be stepping into the role of an Angel in Broadway’s Grease, starting June 6th. Playing the Teen Angel, does that mean he’ll be crooning the famous “Beauty School Drop Out”?
Hicks, once a winner on American Idol, lost a contract with his record label after his post-Idol CD was released to less than astounding sales. While he did sell over 700,000 records, he didn’t hit the 1 million mark, and I guess that’s just not enough to bank on. There were no #1 singles, but personally, I think they released the wrong songs to try for a hit.
I have the CD, and I’m quite happy with it. I found it amusing how often I heard it while down the casinos too…somebody is playing it, but maybe it’s just lounges and casinos. It’s gotten a lot of play in my car stereo.
Anyway, now that he’s set to sing on stage as an Angel, he’ll also be doing more independent work, and is excited with the quality of music he’ll be putting out. He had currently released two independent CD’s before hitting American Idol. I’m looking forward to hear his new music. I love his soulful sound.
Jason is heading home. He made it all this way, and I think his having a unique sound will help him get a record deal. He has a marketable face as well, and unique style. As for his comments, I think he nailed it when he mentioned his “inexperience” catching up with him, when it came to learning multiple sounds.
I see David Cook winning the entire thing, though David A has been a front runner from the start. I think David Cook has the potential to be the bigger star, while David A has a good ballad voice. Syesha, love her voice, think she’s really talented, but I think there’s a bigger fan base for both Davids.
I was out last night and missed Idol. It’s a rarity, because I make a point of seeing it! The media has splashed all over headlines that Jason flubbed some lines of his Bob Dylan song.
When I didn’t see it last night, I realized something. I’m not as vested in it at this point, because honestly, I’m not excited by any of the remaining contestants. David Cook is the dark horse to win it, but David A is also a huge favorite. Jason and Syesha are good singers, but I’m just not as interested now.
When Carly was voted off, I was astounded. That woman could sing, and she’s who I wanted to watch each week.
In all the years Idol has been on, this is the first time I’ve LOST INTEREST towards the ending! In fact, five years ago, I made my husband watch Idol on our honeymoon, since they were deciding between Clay and Reuben! Yeah, I’m a die hard, but eh, these last four just aren’t exciting me anymore.
Tuesday night, not one person stood out. Seriously, it was sad. Nobody impressed me, blew me away, or made me go…”Great performance!”.
Bottom two: Brooke and Jason
David Cook is starting to stand out among the contestants. While the money was banking on David A, it looks like David C may be the dark horse to win it.
I went into yesterday’s show going, it’s going to be hard. Mariah songs can be tough! I have to say, I’m really impressed, they did an outstanding job. Props to Syesha for blowing it out! Carly did fabulous, I have no clue why they always nitpick her songs.
Anyway, the ONE performance I didn’t care for was David Cooke’s. My husband on the other hand thought it was great. Eh, different opinions.
Bottom three in my eyes:
Brooke, Kristi and Jason (I liked all the performances except one, but there have to be a bottom three)
Going home:
Brooke, after missing a few notes, and not pulling it off. Nice girl, but Mariah’s song was obviously out of her range, and this is a singing competition. Just not good enough to go on…
It’s getting dicey up there. The numbers are getting narrowed down, and it’s getting harder to see people leave. There are still three contestants I’m okay with being booted off, but I really like a lot of them this year.
I think a few just aren’t making good emotional connections with their fan base. I think Carly is technically great, but she’s choosing some crappy song choices. I’d like to see her in the top 2 or 3. David Cooke, they rave about, but he doesn’t have the “it” factor for me. Of course, I think we’re all expecting David A to make it to the end. Syesha sounds fabulous, but she needs a little more “spark”. She sounds great though. A few almost seem robotic, even though they sing well. I’d like to see more comfort, but I guess that comes with time.

Don’t forget to tune in tonight to see how everyone does! I love Tuesday TV.
I was really surprised by the final outcome of Idol voting last night. I truly wasn’t expecting Michael Johns to be let go. Were you?
By the look on Paula’s face, she seemed stunned as well.
I loved when he would get into a bluesy sound, and his rendition of Dream On was good. While I don’t think he would have won, I did expect him to go a little further. When he hit those high notes Tuesday night, spot on!
