Disney Radio Concerts in Wildwood!

There was a huge survey done recently to name the best beaches in New Jersey. They came up with a list of the top 10 beaches in the survey, and in the top 4 slots, something became very clear. People love Wildwood, New Jersey. Three of the four slots were taken by the likes of Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest!

It’s easy to see why it would be so popular, after all they have free beaches, which is a rarity in New Jersey, along with a massive boardwalk. If you’ve never been to the jersey shore, you’ve never been to a boardwalk! Seriously, the Wildwood Boardwalk is long, fabulous and fun. With rides, games, and great food, it’s a great way to spend the day with your family.

Most popular on the boardwalk is Morey’s Piers. They have the best rides, along with a water park. Morey’s Pier is “the place” to be when you’re handing on the boards. Take it from a Jersey girl, if you want a fun family vacation, Wildwood and Morey’s Pier makes for a great New Jersey vacation! I take my son down yearly, and my parents used to take me down when I was a kid. While I go to other Jersey beaches too, Wildwood is where the action is when you want a full, fun and active place to hang out. Long, clean beaches, everybody riding bikes, games, rides, and a great atmosphere.

This year something exciting is happening! Disney Radio is having free concerts at Morey’s Pier! If you’re looking for Wildwood events, look no farther. On July 7th, 14th and 21st, you can catch hot acts from Disney Radio. You’ll be grooving along with shows at 1pm and 4pm, right by the Giant Ferris Wheel. This is over at the Morey’s Mariner Landing Pier.

That’s not all, on July 26th there will be a great show which will feature Raven-Symone, of “That’s So Raven”! You can check that out at 2pm at the convention center at the end of the boardwalk. We were there last year, when I took my son to see Weird Al at the convention center. That’s the thing about these shows, they are family friendly, and good for everyone to enjoy.

If you’re looking for a fun new jersey water park, beaches, great food and a massive boardwalk, it doesn’t get any better than Wildwood. And anyone who goes to Wildwood will tell you Morey’s Piers are where it’s at!

Reba Hosts Country Music Awards

Entertainer of the year: Kenny Chesney doesn’t think fans should be the ones voting. He’s been chosen as entertainer of the year for four years.

Other awards given out for top vocalists were: Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. The vocal group went to Rascal Flatts, and the duo once again went to Brooks and Dunn.

New artist accolades went to Taylor Swift and Jack Ingram. Lady Antebellum scored new duo/vocal group.

When it comes to the vinyl, the single of the year was “Stay” by Sugarland, but Miranda Lambert’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” took album of the year. “Stay” also snagged song of the year.

This post was brought to you by WorldOfGolf.com where you can find Titleist golf equipment, along with many other popular brands.

Ashley Simpson and Pete Wentz Tie the Knot

Now that Ashley and Pete are married, it’s time to pick out the china pattern, sinks, and all the other stuff that goes with newlywed stuff. Of course, there are murmurs that she’s pregnant as well, so they may be filling out a baby registry for baby stuff too.

What do you think? Do you think they married due to a pregnancy, or it was headed that way, so they finally just tied the knot? I guess we’ll know soon enough if she starts showing from a pregnancy!

Congratulations go out to Ashley Simpson and Pete Wentz.

Is Taylor Hicks and Angel?

No, but he’ll play one on Broadway. (Source)

Taylor Hicks will be stepping into the role of an Angel in Broadway’s Grease, starting June 6th. Playing the Teen Angel, does that mean he’ll be crooning the famous “Beauty School Drop Out”?

Hicks, once a winner on American Idol, lost a contract with his record label after his post-Idol CD was released to less than astounding sales. While he did sell over 700,000 records, he didn’t hit the 1 million mark, and I guess that’s just not enough to bank on. There were no #1 singles, but personally, I think they released the wrong songs to try for a hit.

I have the CD, and I’m quite happy with it. I found it amusing how often I heard it while down the casinos too…somebody is playing it, but maybe it’s just lounges and casinos. It’s gotten a lot of play in my car stereo.

Anyway, now that he’s set to sing on stage as an Angel, he’ll also be doing more independent work, and is excited with the quality of music he’ll be putting out. He had currently released two independent CD’s before hitting American Idol. I’m looking forward to hear his new music. I love his soulful sound.

My favorite: “Hell of a Day”

Is Mariah Married? Or is it Publicity?

What do you think of the latest Mariah Carey news? Is she married, or is it a publicity stunt?

Here’s a woman that all ready has a number 1 CD on the billboard charts, and surely doesn’t need more attention or money….

Yet, it seems awfully interesting the timing of it all, after she was only dating this guy for a short time. Wasn’t she just in a long term relationship before this?

I’m not saying either way, until it’s confirmed. Something feels a little off on this one…time will tell.

Flashback Music

I never thought I’d be hearing a song from Flashdance coming off of my son’s computer. It’s funny, because he’s now listening to music I grew up with. He keeps replaying “Maniac”, and asked me if I ever heard this great song called “Born to be Wild”. He tries to stump me and goes, do you know this song…
Okay, are you ready for this..AC/DC and things like “Back in Black” or “You Shook Me All Night Long”. Umm, kiddo, that was the music I grew up on!

Kelly Clarkson Sings for the Pope!

Source

Imagine that! Not many people can add that to their list of performances. She sang Ava Maria.

It’s just a picture of her, with her voice in the background. While she did a lovely job, the most beautiful version I’ve heard was by Wynonna Judd at her Christmas concert this past year. She blew the roof off, and was incredible. Seriously incredible…

Either way, quite an honor for Kelly. Here’s one of my favorite Kelly Clarkson performances.

Alicia Keys Has Bumpy Ride

Alicia Keys has had to cancel a few shows due to swollen vocal cords.

Alicia had been under fire recently also for an interview she gave to a magazine. She says that things were taken out of context, and the story of her speaking of conspiracy and “Gangsta Rap” were misrepresented. There was also a story about an AK47, where she says it’s a nickname from her friends, yet she supposedly wears a pendant of one.

Who knows what was said, misquoted, or whatever. Only her and the interviewer were there, but aside from that, I hope she’s feeling better soon and back to her shows.

Maybe when she’s done touring, she can start looking at luxury oceanfront properties, like Corpus Christi real estate and take a good long, relaxing break!

On a side note, American Idol Jordin Sparks is her opening act.

Paolo Nutini, Last Request

Totally in love with this song right now, especially this live version. I’ve been hearing Paolo Nutini on The Coffehouse, Channel 30 on Sirius radio, and went to look up more info. Love, love, love this song. Wish I could find this live version in iTunes. I can only find a different one, and the album/CD version. It’s a little older, but just love this.
