Deadliest Catch Wraps Up

posted in TV, Two Dog Zoo |

I understand crab fisherman know the life of a crab fisherman. What blew me away was the show after the Deadliest Catch finale. It was watching how the cameramen were getting the shots they were getting, what they went through, and how they rigged the boats.

One of the newer guys, Ben said he was terrified at one point, and who could blame him with the swells and huge waves crashing over the banisters. If you aren’t an Alaskan crab fisherman, you aren’t expecting those kinds of seas. We watch it on TV in the comfort of our own home. This was real life there, and they were confronted with that.

We love the show because it’s real. You can’t script this stuff.

I don’t know if Captain Phil will be back next year, but I do wish him the best and hope to hear his health has taken a turn for the better. He was my favorite Captain to watch, so I’ll miss him if he’s not on board next year. He’s raw, and there’s something about that…seeing him go from being gruff and moody, to being a dad…it was a nice balance.
