Beach Cruisers
When I go to the shore, the latest trend in bikes is seeing beach cruisers. Growing up, we rode ten speed bikes, and we were hunched over. When I think of that now, my back just groans! With a beach cruiser, I love how you sit more natural and upright. I’m in New Jersey, so I hit the Jersey beaches all summer long.
We went to both Long Beach Island and Wildwood this year, and on the boardwalk and promenade area, there were beach cruisers everywhere. They have a retro feel to them, and they’re really nice. What I loved was seeing entire families riding them together. It’s a great family activity. What I loved was at the bike rental places, they were full of beach cruisers! People love them, and it’s showing at all the rental places. Here’s a picture I snapped this past season in Long Beach Island. You can see the beach cruisers in the front if you look closely!
