I Love Sesame Street
….and Sesame Workshop is doing it again.
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization that produces the hit kids’ show, is working on a DVD that will be distributed to military families. It’s designed to help injured veterans talk about their disabilities with their children.
I love to read stuff like this, and it’s such a great idea. Sesame Street has a way of making things easier to understand, and them taking on a tough topic like this just shows us once again why they are as great as they are. In the article, it states that over 18,000 soldiers have been injured, and that means a lot of military families are facing things that may be hard to understand to children. It’s a struggle for a person to learn to accept and learn to deal with a change to their body, but how do you explain that to children so they understand? This is a great tool to open that door to communication.
The video features Rosita and Elmo. Elmo encourages Rosita to discuss her feelings with her father. To learn more about this, you can click on the “source” link to read the article.
