Gossip Girl

I’m sure by now you’ve heard about the hot series, The CW’s Gossip Girl. Everybody is talking about it, and the promotions are everywhere. “Gossip Girl” is actually based on a series of novels from Cecily Von Ziegestar. If you head over to Amazon, you’ll see the books are highly rated, and you can get an entire series of them. This popular series of books is now a television show on CW. It follows around the lives of some privileged teens, and looks into the issues of things like drug use, sex, date rate, and other things that teens face. One person seems to be blogging about it all, and it stirs up the hoopla. Josh Schwartz created the show, and has been known for his huge hit The O.C. It looks like he may be spinning his magic once again.

There’s all sorts of coverage of “Gossip Girl” on the web. You can check out a MySpace Fan Page here, and even some You Tube Videos here. They also have a message board on their main site, which even has a section where you can ask one of the cast a question. There are the usual discussions of the characters, along with other lines.

What do you think is going to happen next? The tension is going to keep building between Serena and Blair, which can only mean one thing, trouble! When it comes down to it, isn’t that what every good show needs, a good rivalry. Remember Kelly and Brenda on 90210, and Dylan? Who doesn’t love a triangle of love, pain and jealousy! I hope the story writing stays strong, but doesn’t go overboard, and keeps it in check. Pressuring someone at a party is one thing, but someone else just a little bit later. You can draw a picture, but don’t scream it out for us to get the idea. Viewers are pretty smart.

I’ll tell you another thing, Blake Lively is all ready making a splash, she’s been all over a couple of my magazines! She’s going to be a girl to watch ash her star continues to rise.
