The Simpsons Movie Rakes It In
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.1. “The Simpsons Movie,” $71.9 million.

The Simpsons television show has been on the air for 18 years. Now the movie has finally hit theaters. They’ve been teasing us with the opener for well over a year now, so to see it in theaters was exciting for many people. Kwik-E-Marts popped up across the country in honor of the occasion, including the familiar yellow color and Squishees.
Opening at #1, they go up against the 3rd installment of the Bourne Identity, The Bourne Ultimatum. The question is how much ground will they continue to hold.
