I’m Inked, Are You?

Speaking of tattoos, I’ve been tagged by my friend Marisa. It’s all about the body art this week! Here are my two tattoos and the stories behind them.

The first one I got, I was 19, and my friend had decided she wanted to get a shooting star on her hip. I was her support to go through it, and wasn’t planning on getting a tattoo. I walked in the shop and started looking at all of the different designs. One small one jumped out at me, and we started laughing and talking. Hey, would it be cool to get the worm on my foot, so when I’m barefoot, it would look like it’s walking in the grass! Yes, I was sober. Anyway, it matched my quirky sense of humor and I decided to get it. Do I regret it being 40 now? Not a bit, because it still matches my quirky sense of humor. He’s a tad faded, but he’s been with me for over 20 years now.

The entire time I was in my first marriage, it was made very clearly that he didn’t like tattoos on women. That’s fine, but I like them. When I got divorced, I’ll bet you can guess where I went! I went to get my next tattoo. The butterfly represents my free spirit. It was GORGEOUS! The reds, yellows and oranges were incredible. I loved it…and then it itched. I did something really stupid and put a cortisone cream on to help me deal with the itch, and it pulled my light colors out! Oops, they told me not to, but the itch got to me. I’ve intended to go back and get it recolored for the last 10 years. Maybe if I go and get my third one, I’ll get my second one recolored. I’d like a sunburst on my ankle bone.

Those are my tattoos, now head over to see Laura’s. Time to tag Laura!

No emu oil, either! shea or cocoa butter are okay, though. :)

    Thanks for playing. :)
