Angelina Jolie Launches Global Action for Children
The actress and U.N. Goodwill Ambassador announced Thursday in Washington, D.C. that she’s helping to launch an advocacy group called Global Action for Children, which will focus on issues related to orphans, children and HIV/AIDS. GAC will be an umbrella group that will advocate for 20 other organizations that help needy children in developing nations.
ETonline.com reports that Angelina Jolie, high profile celebrity, is starting a group that will focus on needy children. She has been outspoken and shown in her actions of adopting from high need areas her continued support in this arena. I personally looked at her in an entire new light after reading her book, “Notes from My Travel” a few years ago. She was deeply affected while taking on the responsibility of being a Goodwill Ambassador and has opened the eyes of many people as to the problems across the world, and the help that children need. I have a great deal of respect for the time and effort put into her desire to help others. If you haven’t picked up the book, “Notes from My Travel”, I highly suggest it. Her actions speak louder than many people’s words.
