Starbucks Corp. said on Wednesday former Beatle Paul McCartney would be the first musician to release an album on the coffee shop chain’s new Hear Music record label.

Record sales are way down, and with the increase in people downloading their music, musicians and record labels are getting creative when it comes to launching music on CD’s. The money is in the endorsements and touring. Hear Music label recordings will be available for sale in their coffee based stores as well as music stores. McCartney is a huge name, so that alone will get them publicity as people are still wagging tongues over his divorce from Heather Mills, and others fondly remember all the years of great music he’s given us both as a solo artist, and of course with The Beatles.
